Let us take you on a joyride, back in time, 30-40 years ago. To a time when Budapest was still behind the iron curtain, in the grips of communism and under the watchful eye of the Soviet overlords. But this isnât just any old sightseeing tour. We wonât show you the same, generic sights that everyone knows about, the ones that you can simply jump on a bus and discover for yourselves. Weâll leave the standard, box-ticking trips to others, as weâre doing things a little differently and taking you âoff the beaten trackâ. For this is a unique, immersive and thought provoking tour. A tour designed to get âunder the skinâ of the real Budapest and transport you forward to the past.

During a 2.5 â 3 hour joyride in one of our perfectly preserved classic cars of the era, weâll âwhisk you awayâ to a specially chosen selection of Budapestâs hidden gems, giving you an insight in to what life was really like in the Budapest of the â70s and â80s in the process.Â Amongst our destinations is a trip to a communist urban dwelling where Hungarians lived (and still live), that retains the atmosphere of the bygone eras, even now. We also visit the historic Statue park, a memento of a socialist time gone by. Csepel Works, the former world-famous Industrial town that played such a large role during the Hungarian revolution is also on our hit list. Or how about a trip to the Zwack factory and museum where you can learn about and sample unicum, one of the national drinks of Hungary. We also stop off at a retro exhibition at the picturesque town of Szentendre, and last, but not least, weâll take you to a period restaurant/pub where you can indulge yourselves with an authentic gastronomic, Hungarian experience.
